Artificial intelligence comes into play in the Vocento GENIO Innovation Awards

Challenges are often solved through innovation, which is recognized every year by the GENIO Innovation Awards, promoted by Vocento with the strategic consultancy SCOPEN, which recognizes creativity in communication, recognizes companies and professionals who have demonstrated the greatest effectiveness in marketing and communication strategies, as well as its adaptation media world that is constantly changing.

The awards will celebrate their 17th edition next year with Murcia as the venue, with the help of the newspaper ‘La Verdad’, which will host the edition that will take place on the 13th and 14th of March. “A medium that has served as a witness and narrator of the life of the people of Murcia and the episodes that have marked the future of this country,” said Rafael Martínez de Vega, CEO of CM Vocento.

In 2024, it will be 10 years since Vocento developed the prizes, made them more attractive, with a travel format and included a day of inspiring and different conferences on innovation, symbolized and recognized personalities such as CSIC biochemist Carlos Briones, psychiatrist and popularizer Marian Rojas Estapé , the versatile Jesús Calleja, the chefs David de Jorge and Andoni Luis Aduriz, the neuroscientist Manuel Martín-Loeches or the journalist and writer Mikel Ayestarán.

The award has established itself as a comparative innovation award in communication in the sector and broke attendance records last year. “This year, artificial intelligence was incorporated into the form to identify which advertising pieces are using this technology in marketing and communication,” said Kika Samblás, partner and managing director of SCOPEN, at the presentation event.

At the event, which took place in the Vocento building, the different editions of GENIO were evaluated with a commemorative video featuring various participants from previous editions, highlighting that over the sixteen years of these awards, 795 advertisers, 453 agencies participated and presented up to 3,411 works. “Last edition we had up to 58 new advertisers and 50 new participating agencies and when we look at the satisfaction figures, we can see that the team we work with at GENIO is doing a little better every year to keep everyone entertained,” he announced Samblás, which highlighted Mahou San Miguel, Vodafone and the Government of Navarre as the most awarded advertisers since the start of the competition in 2007. All historically recognized brands, but also agencies of the caliber of iProspect or McCann, which accumulate up to 16 trophies.

The registration period – completely free of charge – started on November 6 and ends on January 9 for the registration areas: Innovation in Marketing, Communication and Media Use or Innovation in Product Design and Service Design.
